Repent + Restore: what we're doing for Lent

If you’re a member, you received a similar email on Thursday. If you’re not a member, perhaps consider joining us for Lent? You can cancel at any point and we currently have a rare opportunity for a free trial.

Here we are, knocking on the door of another Lent. It’s not overstating it to say that last Lent rocked the whole world, so it stands to reason that we might be a little wary of what this year will hold.

So this Lent, let us seek to repent and restore. Repent of what we have done and allow God to restore what is weary and broke in us.

What you can expect from your Take Up & Read membership this Lent:

2-3 essays per week, full of Elizabeth’s wisdom both practical and spiritual.

Daily inspirations, just for members, delivered right to your inbox . The daily emails will include:

  • A brief quote or meditation

  • A short prayer

  • A call to action

  • Daily Mass readings

Weekly Tutorials: these crafts are sure to soothe your soul and refresh your mind

  • Healing hand salve

  • Knit dishcloths

  • Stay-put headbands

  • Pretty kitchen towels, and more!

Weekly Zoom Bible Studies: join Elizabeth and Micaela every Wednesday at 10:30 am eastern to discuss the week’s scriptures. Sessions are recorded and shared on the blog later if you can’t make it during the live!

Members-only forum discussions, private and personal, right in our own membership site, in case you’re planning to cut back on social media for Lent.

And don’t forget about Elizabeth’s daily Instagram scripture studies! She goes live on Instagram at 9 am eastern, and then saves and uploads the videos to the public blog. Make sure you’re signed up to receive those emails too, if you want to keep up with those.

We will have these free tools to help you:

  • Build a lectio divina study binder using our free membership printables

  • Or print out a simple lectio divina study page

  • What is lectio divina? You can read what Dr. Tim Gray has to say about it here, or watch a 25 minute video about it here.
